and Womenhouses, Amsterdam) painted
by Cornelis van der Voort, 1618. Amsterdams Historisch Museum. This painter established a long
tradition of portraits of regents on which the archival records point to the
efficiency and effectivity by which the regents
handled their institutions' business.
