  • NWO Rubicon Postdoc fellowships --- Deadline: 3 April 2012
    The Dutch Science Foundation (NWO) Rubicon programme offers talented researchers (postdoc-level) from abroad the opportunity to obtain grants to spend one year conducting research in the Netherlands. There are three selection rounds a year for Rubicon grants. Next deadline is 1 December 2011. See for more information NWO.

  • Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowship --- Deadline passed (new one opening in 2012)
    Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowships are individual fellowships that aim to attract top-class researchers from third countries to work and undertake research training in Europe from 1 to 2 years (incoming phase), with a view to developing mutually-beneficial research co-operation. How to become a PhD student at the UvA

There are two ways of becoming a PhD student at the UvA: You either get hired as a PhD employee (employed promovendus) by the UvA (See occasional vacancies above), or you have to get accepted as a PhD student without employment (See the fellowship suggestions above).
